The Brief

I believe that the Brief was extremely anticipated by everyone as it was kept under close wraps until the word, 'go'. The first of the four Manipulating Media briefs was 'The Value of Education'. Upon receiving this brief, we also received a small 4 sided hand out about what they expected from each member of the group and the different criteria that we are expected to meet. The brief stated that we had to create a 'short video promoting the value of going to University' and the idea was that we had to use as many persuasive techniques as possible.

The researchers primary role is to find useful sources of information that can be utilised by the person in charge of production and dissemination. These sources can be found in a varied range of places, so the idea is to condense down the findings in order to establish the importance that they would have in the final piece.

Another thing that I will need to do as a researcher, that is established by the brief, is to fact check any information used in the storyboard and final product. To minimise the errors that could occur, it is important to use the most up to date and recent information that I can find. This will also make the final product more informed.

I will also need to proof read any work that is done. This proof reading enables the final piece to be as professional as possible. As any obvious errors will degrade the piece of work that we produce.
